20th Anniversary Staff Feature: Rose Ellis

Introducing Rose Ellis! Rose has been with the firm for 15 years and has many fond memories of the firm throughout her time. She is a member of the administrative team and has grown into her current role as Legal Assistant II. Rose can be found in the Philadelphia office with a candy jar on her ledge and friendly hello. Read below for more information about Rose Ellis!

  • How long have you been at the firm?
I have been a part of the Klasko family for 15 years and I plan to stay here until I retire.
  • What is your current role?
I am a Legal Assistant II. I assist with preparing various administrative and paralegal tasks.
  • How has your job changed over the years?
Prior to the pandemic, our petitions were printed, scanned, filed, and mailed out, now all of our petitions are done digitally. You could see how busy everyone was by looking at their desks, now everything is on our computers. We used to have phones on our desks as well, now the phone line is connected to our computer, which is still strange to me.
  • What is your favorite memory from your early days at the firm?
One of our administrative assistants, Rita, who has since retired, thought that it would be a great idea (she had many) to bake chocolate chip cookies in the office, so all day long, we got to smell and enjoyed eating warm delicious cookies 😊. We had a lot of fun days (still do) at Klasko, from Throwback Thursday 80’s game day, which included jacks, board games, and Ker-Bangers, Firmsgiving, hot chocolate day, ice cream day, at times order us lunch for no reason, as well as the summer/winter events.
  • What do you value most about working at KILP?
The family feel and respect. Everyone is respected no matter what title you hold.
  • What has been one of the more challenging times?
The pandemic was a challenge for me, one day we were in the office, and by the end of the day, we were packing up to work from home. Klasko did everything to make it as easy as possible, they even allowed us to order equipment to make our home office as equipped as the work office. We now have a hybrid schedule, but working from home was not for me, I missed the office environment. If I have a question, I would rather go and ask it in person. I choose to go into the office 5 days a week. It is good for me physically and mentally.
  • Anything else you want to share?
Around 2 years ago, we participated in an office Shark Tank. My group talked about PTO and how life events impact us, I spoke briefly about my experience of losing my mother and brother seven weeks apart, needless to say, I could not finish my story. After that, the firm implemented 2 Mental Health days per employee, per calendar year. Klasko really cares about their employees, and I am so glad that I get to enjoy my work life at Klasko. I have told many of the partners that they are stuck with me until I retire. 😊 Klasko is an amazing place to work, not many people can say that they love their job and the people they work with. I am happy to wake up each morning and head into the office.
