The 2023 Lisa Felix Award: Amanda Reddick

In 2022, Klasko Immigration Law Partners introduced The Lisa Felix Award, a very special award to honor the memory and legacy of a very special person. Lisa Felix was an attorney at Klasko Immigration Law Partners who passed in 2020 after a long illness. The award is intended to recognize someone who embodies the spirit of Lisa Felix, who radiated unconditional, unwavering, and selfless kindness even in difficult times.

The peer nominations featured KILP staff members who live with honesty, integrity, and responsibility. The motto of “Live like Lisa” comes to mind as someone friendly, generous, considerate, creates a fun atmosphere, and always spreads positivity, even during difficult times.

On July 13, Amanda Reddick, HR Generalist, was awarded the second annual Lisa Felix Award for her dedication to the KILP community and for always having a shining light of positive energy, even in the face of challenges. In one of Amanda’s nominations, her peer said, “I would like to nominate Amanda Reddick to be considered as the recipient of this year’s Lisa Felix Award. Amanda did not have an opportunity to meet Lisa, but I think Lisa would have loved her.”

In another nomination, her peer wrote, “Amanda exudes positive energy. Whether she is running around the office helping people in a physical capacity, or logging into an interview with a split second’s notice to help a candidate troubleshoot their technology issues – she ALWAYS has a smile on her face. Amanda makes people feel comfortable and at ease. She is a caring person who goes the extra mile to make sure that we always keep that special Klasko touch. Amanda joined us in March of 2020 – in the height of the pandemic. It’s ironic that she never set foot in our office during her onboarding period, but now probably knows the ins and outs of this space better than most of us. Amanda will stay late or come in early to make sure there are special decorations up for the holiday. Details that might seem silly to some but are always well received and exciting for our onsite team.”

Amanda has been with the firm and has worked in Human Resources for 4 years. Before working in HR, she had experience working as an executive assistant and says it has helped her succeed in her current role as it requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Outside the office, Amanda loves to spend her free time lying in a hammock at the park with her dog and a good book or spending a nice day outside with friends. She also enjoys taking group fitness classes, baking for friends and family, attending and participating in community events, and learning new crafts. She shared two of her most inspirational quotes:

“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change”

“Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them.”

About receiving the honor, Amanda says, “I feel immense gratitude and honor to have received the 2nd Lisa Felix Award. Serving others within the firm and beyond has been a privilege, and I’ve always believed that our actions ripple outward, creating a positive impact that extends far beyond ourselves. I am deeply appreciative of the support and encouragement from my colleagues and the firm, which have enabled me to contribute in meaningful ways. Receiving the Lisa Felix award inspired me to continue striving for excellence in fostering a supportive and compassionate environment for all.”

Amanda has shown that an impact can be made in a short amount of time. She uses her kindness, energy, and commitment to serve others every day at the firm. Amanda is someone who embodies what the Lisa Felix Award was meant for, she is simply someone who “Lives like Lisa.”

Please join us in wishing a big congratulations, Amanda!
